With their victory against Leganes, sboasia Barcelona have equalled one of the most long-lived and difficult league records to achieve; 38 consecutive games without defeat.Only Alberto Ormaetxea's Real Sociedad had managed such a record before now, between week 29 of the 1978/79 season and week 32 of 79/80. Ernesto Valverde has remained unbeaten for the 31 matchdays of this season, whilst Luis Enrique didn't lose any of his last seven. In these 38 games, Barcelona have won 30 and drawn eight, while that Real Sociedad of Arconada, Zamora, Satrustegui, Lopez Ufarte, Pichi Alonso and Co. sboasia got 22 wins and 18 draws. The defeat that ended their streak took place on the penultimate day of the season against Sevilla at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan. La Real lost 2-1 with both Sevilla goals from Bertoni, however, the Basque team were still crowned champions. The last league match lost by Barcelona sboasia came against Malaga, on matchday 31 last year. Since that 2-0 defeat, nobody has been able to beat them. The Blaugrana now have the chance to go for the absolute record against Valencia next Saturday at the Camp Nou.They will need to get at least a draw against a very difficult opponent, and if they do, they'll go down in history.
